It's a woman's CHOICE!
Over 100,000 people participated in the March 9th March for Women's Lives in Washington, D.C. Many lesbians and gay males were among those who recognize a women's right to control her own body. Photos by Louise Luczak.
NCLA Events
The North Coast Lesbian Association meets the second Tuesday of each month. Next meeting is April 8, 8 p.m. in the Small Group Room in the Civic.
Saturday, April 19 will be
Video Night in the Community Room of the Civic, 7:3010:30 p.m. The Whoopi Goldberg Concert Tape will be shown, and plans call for the Lesbian Nuns tape as well. Donation at door. Ms. Goldberg (1.) starred in The Color Purple but in spite of 11 nominations neither she nor the film won awards.
Coffee House
The April 12 Women's Coffee House will feature Alison Sarel and Nancy Tichier. with comedy and music, 8 p.n. The Civic. $2.00.
NOW Names Peri Jude
Activist Peri Peri Jude has been hired by the National Organization for Women as Coordinator of Lesbian Rights Programs, the Washington Post reports. She replaces Gertrude Stein Democratic Club president Chris Riddiough, who resigned last September after the election of Eleanor Smeal as NOW President.
Lesbians and gays have criticized NOW's delay in replacing Riddiough. Sheri
O'Dell, its vice president for action, denied that NOW has cut back its lesbian and gay-related programs. She cited lobbying efforts, an amicus brief filed in the Georgia sodomy case, speeches by Smeal.

Jude will direct lobbying of New York and New Jersey legislatures for gay civil rights. She will also coordinate NOW's lesbian/gay eduefforts and other cation programs now being planned.
Women-3 Events
Wonderful Westside Women meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30. p.m.
The April meeting will at Snicker's Restaurant, 1261 West 76th Street, a dinner meeting. This event starts at 7 p.m. For information, call Bobbi, 631-3819.
Next month's meeting will be at the regular time, 7:30, May 14, at the West Shore Unitarian Church, 20401 Hilliard. Donation for
the room is 50 cents.
Women-3 is sponsoring a Progressive Dinner on Sunday April 20, starting at 1 p.m. in the Lakewood area. For information call Linda, 2383814.
